- Sony Service Menu - Checking and Resetting Lamp Hours
Procedure

1. To access the service menu, with the TV off, press the following buttons on the remote control sequentially in rapid succession (note: if the TV is already on, you can start by turning the power off, but then you should enter the full 4-button sequence within about 3 seconds to avoid a lamp restart):

2. Press until the PANEL service menu displays.

3. Press <2> until the OPTION_E category appears.

4. The "LampTM" (lamp power-on time in hours) and "LampCT" (lamp on/off cycles) entries are in the first item in the OPTION_E category. If they are not displayed, press <1> repeatedly until they do.

The display should look as follows:
PANEL NVM OK 9 OPTION_E
0 LAMP 0 Diff 1
LampTM #### LampCT ####

To reset these counters, press <3> .
"WRI-EXE" should be displayed momentarily in red text, followed by resetting to “0”.

5. To display the PanelTM (total LCD panel power-on time) entry, press <1> until it displays.

The display should look as follows:
PANEL NVM OK 9 OPTION_E
7 SH SFT1 10 Diff 1
PanelTM ####

6. When done, exit the service menu by turning off the TV (note: you can turn the TV back on immediately, but you should do so within about 3 seconds to avoid a lamp restart.

General service menu information

Enter Service Menu = <5>
Exit Service Menu =
Menu Next = <1>
Menu Previous = <4>
Category Next = <2>
Category Previous = <5>
Adjust Up = <3>
Adjust Down = <6>
Save New Settings =
Restore Factory Defaults = <8>

To get into the Service menu ( Per garycase2001 )

The A3000 MAY be different than the A2020 ... but Sony rarely changes the Service

Menu entry codes ==> so I'd try the A2000/A2020 sequence:

[Power Off] - [Display] - [5] - [Volume Up] - [Power On]

These have to be pressed within one second of each other or the sequence won't work.


... if that gets you into the Service Menu okay, then this is what you would do on an A2020 to get to the lamp hours (the A3000 may be a bit different ... but this may give you the right idea => I suspect it's still labeled "LMP_TMP", although it may no longer be item #21):

Go into the PANEL section of the Service Menu (Press Jump until PANEL displays)

Item 21 TIMER / 0 LMP_TMP will tell you the # hours on your bulb

(index thru menus by pressing 2)
